Let's Make Music Together

My Teaching Philosophy
My journey as a music educator is deeply rooted in my multifaceted experience as an artist, producer, engineer, and lifelong student of music. I believe that music is a universal language — one that transcends boundaries and empowers students to express themselves authentically.
As a music teacher, my goal is simple yet profound: to ignite a lifelong love and joy for music in every student. Whether in a K-12 classroom or a college-level lecture hall, I aim to create an inclusive, engaging, and culturally rich environment where every learner feels seen, heard, and inspired.
I move beyond traditional Western-centric music education, embracing a global perspective. My students explore a wide variety of musical traditions — from African drums and Latin rhythms to Indian classical scales and the evolution of hip-hop and rock. I believe in celebrating diversity and using music as a lens to understand cultural identity, history, and social change.
In my classroom, students are at the center of the learning experience. I embrace differentiated instruction to meet learners where they are, offering hands-on exploration, performance opportunities, and critical listening activities. I encourage every student to find their voice, embrace creativity, and discover their personal musical path.
What I Teach
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of music programs, ensembles, and skill levels. One especially meaningful experience was teaching nonverbal autistic students for a full academic year, using music as a tool for communication and expression.Whether working with young children or college students, my lessons are interactive, inclusive, culturally responsive, and designed to spark joy and creativity in every learner. Here's a look at the subjects I bring to life.
